Short break in Busselton

Our Get away to Busselton

After dealing with a few challenges lately, I felt I really needed a break. What better place to recharge than Busselton? With its stunning beaches and beautiful coastline, it was the perfect spot to reconnect with my love for fishing and the ocean. Thank you Alifa for helping me with this, we had an amazing time!

Busselton Jetty

No trip to Busselton is complete without experiencing its famous jetty. At 1.8 kilometers long, it’s the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. We decided to take the scenic train ride along the jetty, which offered incredible views of the clear waters and the surrounding coastline. At the end of the jetty, I visited the Busselton Jetty Underwater Observatory. It was amazing to see vibrant marine life up close – the coral reefs and schools of fish made it an unforgettable experience.

A Step Back in Time at Cape Naturliste Lighthouse

For a little history and even more breathtaking views, we made our way to the Lighthouse. Built in 1865, this lighthouse is not only a part of Margaret River’s heritage but also offers panoramic views of the stunning coastline, beaches, and the ocean. The views were perfect for a few photos and a moment of reflection.

Enjoying the Local Food

No trip to the coast would be complete without indulging in some good fish and chips! We also spent time cooking a healthy meal at home – fresh salad, steak, and vegetables. It was really nice to take our time choosing and preparing the food, and it made the trip feel even more relaxing. Of course, this meant we were more than ready to visit the bakery the next day without any guilt!

Reflecting on a Recharging Trip

After a few amazing days of recharging, cooking, walking, and simply enjoying nature, I felt refreshed and ready to head back home. Busselton truly offered the perfect escape. It was the kind of trip that reconnected me with what matters most: time spent in nature, good food, and the simple joys of life.
