At Alifa, quality isn’t just about compliance. It means making sure every person receives support that is safe, respectful and genuinely empowering. It means listening, advocating and always looking for ways to do better so people can live the lives they choose.
That’s why we’re so glad to have Nancy leading our Quality and Engagement team.
Nancy brings years of frontline experience, leadership and genuine heart to her role. She’s worked across SIL, disability employment, community access and management and she understands what quality support actually looks like in practice. Support that sees the person, respects their choices and works toward outcomes that matter to them.

From the UK to Halls Head
Originally from the UK, Nancy has called Australia home for 32 years, with the last 25 in Halls Head. She loves the coast, the community and the lifestyle and after a quarter of a century it’s hard to imagine her anywhere else.
Disability support wasn’t always the plan though.
Fourteen years ago Nancy enrolled at Challenger TAFE as a mature-age student to complete her Cert III in Disability. She went in for placement hours and never quite left. She stayed on as a volunteer, picked up a casual support worker role, moved into coordination and before long was managing Community Access programs.
One opportunity led to the next, as it tends to when you’re good at what you do.
After seven years she stepped into an Area Manager role across Supported Employment and Community Access. Still wanting to grow, she later moved into a leadership role with a SIL provider overseeing multiple homes and participants with complex needs. When redundancy came along it brought her to Alifa.
She says she loves it here. We’ll happily take that.
Why Quality Matters in the NDIS
In the disability sector, quality isn’t about ticking boxes. It looks like:
- Delivering support that reflects each person’s individual goals and preferences
- Making sure participants feel heard, respected and safe
- Advocating for better outcomes and real opportunities
- Investing in staff so they can provide genuinely great care
- Continuously improving the experience for the people we support
Nancy understands this at every level because she’s lived it. From direct support through to leadership, she knows that behind every review or process is a real person whose life is affected by the quality of their support. That’s not something she takes lightly.
Mentoring, Advocacy and Helping People Thrive
When asked what keeps her going after all these years, Nancy puts it simply.
“The sector brings out my passion to help people achieve things they maybe thought they couldn’t.”
That sits at the core of how Alifa approaches support too. We want people to feel empowered and to reach things that might once have felt out of reach.
Nancy is also passionate about the people she works alongside. She loves mentoring staff, sharing what she’s learned and helping people find their confidence. Because great outcomes for participants start with great teams.
Why We’re Confident
Participants and families place a lot of trust in their providers and we don’t take that lightly.
Having Nancy leading Quality and Engagement means our focus stays where it should be. On real people, real outcomes and support that genuinely makes a difference.
We’re very glad she’s here.
